NetSuite 2026.1 Update: Action Required for FedEx Shipping Integration
If your business relies on FedEx in NetSuite, like many of our customers, there’s an important update tied to the 2026.1 release that requires immediate attention. To ensure your shipping operations continue uninterrupted, all FedEx accounts must be re-registered with multi-factor authentication (MFA) after your upgrade.
What's Changing?
As part of the NetSuite 2026.1 release, the FedEx integration is moving from SOAP web services to a modern REST API. This upgrade improves security and performance—but it also introduces a new requirement:
• Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now required
• All existing FedEx accounts must be re-registered
• The update takes effect immediately after your 2026.1 upgrade
Until this step is completed, FedEx shipping label creation may fail, potentially disrupting fulfillment and order processing. The fix is straightforward—but timing is key.
How to Re-Register your FedEx Account
Follow these steps to re-register your FedEx accounts in NetSuite:
1. Navigate to:
Setup > Accounting > Shipping
2. Go to the Carrier Registration tab
3. Click Add FedEx Account
4. Enter your FedEx account details
5. In the authorization section, choose your preferred MFA method:
• SMS
• Phone call
• Email
• Invoice details
• FedEx Customer Support
6. Enter the PIN provided by FedEx
7. Click Save
8. Confirm the account shows “Yes” in the OAuth column
Repeat these steps for each FedEx account in your NetSuite environment.
